The season of extreme heat, droves of tourists and pricey accommodations is gradually coming to an end giving way to a slower pace. With temperatures around 25 Celsius, the sea is still pleasantly warm to swim in all through October and mid-November, the days are sunny but not as hot as in the summer and the evenings freshly crisp providing a good night sleep. With the slight change of color, the sunsets are even more spectacular and the citrus and olive trees are ripe with fruits. The locals are getting into the mode of tranquility and the life in the island magically slows down. Fishermen continue with their daily rituals bringing home the variety of fish and shellfish and the farmers are ready for the harvests. The mandarins, oranges, and lemons are being picked and olives gathered for pressing. The island is wrapped up in the magnificent calmness providing endless walks, scenic bike routes and colorful sunsets.
